Weekend PIC Up: Some Change

With the change of the seasons come some change in my blog!

I figured this weeks PIC up would be the perfect opportunity to introduce the latest changes to my blog, as well as in my life! So much has happened in such little time, I'm finding myself completely overwhelmed. 

After the first snowfall...in NOVEMBER (what?)...I was ready for a change. The most obvious one, the blog name! Although I loved "wanderlust" and what it stood for to me, I was feeling much more minimalistic and was yearning for something sweet, simple, and to the point. Ergo...my name! I often complain about the lack of nick names my given name offers. I've always wanted something simple that screamed "me." Then I thought...um, well why not just your actual name? "cristina marie" seems to just flow off my tongue, so why not?! Be cautious though...the font and design of it may be changing in the near future. That's just the perfectionist in me.

Change, change, change. What else is new?

I'm newly employed!! I just recently got a part time job with, none other than, Anthropologie. I cannot begin to explain how excited I am, though I have never worked in retail before. Being that I'm ready for change, this opportunity was perfect. I'm hoping to truly find my niche as far as careers go. Combining my love for fashion/home decor and knowledge of business; seems ingenious doesn't it? We'll see what this opportunity brings!

Aside from that, I'm exploring the possibility of graduating this semester and beginning my journey in the real world. Nail biting, I know. Potential internships have sprung about in my path as well, probably being the most overwhelming aspect of my life right now: figuring out what path to embark on. But that will just have to fall into place as the days go by.

Rooms of the Day - {Away from Sandy}

With Hurricane Sandy taking over the East Coast, everything's been a bit gloomy around here. 

Being home for Fall Break, I expected a bit more excitement and warmth. In my mind, I associate fall with warm fuzzies, big sweaters and boots, blankets, and snuggling. Instead I've received an umbrella and some weights to keep me from flying away. Not happy about that.

I wish I could just escape to somewhere fresh and airy.

Take me to a nice crisp, wooden lodge far, far away from the water. As much as I love the summer days, fall has always been my favorite season. I just want to be around some fresh air, bright light, and some peace & quite. Well, Hurricane Sandy...you're making that pretty impossible for me.

So it's been quite a while...but I'm back!

During my absence from the blogworld, I spent a lot of time contemplating what kinds of posts I was going to start doing. I was thinking in terms of weekly "categories" similar to how I started (kind of) my weekly "Weekend Pic Up."

Originally, I was thinking of doing an "OOTD" (Outfit Of The Day) category since I have been Instagram-ing a bunch of my outfits recently. I wasn't completely happy with the idea...until in one of my OOTD's on Instagram, I hashtagged #pinspiration. Then I got the wonderful idea of starting a Pinspiration category! I would post my outfits, but with the Pinterest post that I was inspired by.

Weekend PIC Up

Now that I'm back at school I've been a little bit more busy getting settled in and starting up classes again.

I've been working a lot on my room so you can expect a post on that soon! (hopefully..) The only thing that's really holding me back is the gallery wall by my vanity with all my jewelry being displayed. My mom's supposed to be coming soon to help me work on it though.
